4th Congressional district of Indiana Forum

WBAA and the League of Women Voters of Greater Lafayette invite you to take part in a forum with the two other candidates running in the 4^th Congressional district of Indiana. The forum would be broadcast live on WBAA AM920 Radio. The location is the Mallett Theatre on the campus of Purdue University in West Lafayette. The venue has seating for approximately 100 people. We would advertise the event as open to the public via on-air announcements, WBAA’s and the League’s websites and social media sites, and through Purdue and Greater Lafayette Commerce communication channels, as those entities see appropriate. Seating is available on a first come, first serve basis. However, we will reserve four seats for each candidate.

The format would include one moderator reading questions from audience members and possibly radio listeners via email and/or social media. I would serve as moderator, handling introductions and reading questions. Members of the League would handle collecting and sorting audience questions, and time keeping. The proposed format is as follows:

1)      Moderator introduction and explanation of process

2)      90 second opening remarks from each candidate

3)      60 second response from first candidate answering a question, followed by 45 second responses from each opponent

4)      60 second closing remarks by each candidate

5)      Moderator closing

This is similar to the 4^th Congressional district candidates’ forum held at WLFI-TV in 2010. The candidate order for opening remarks, questions and closing remarks will be determined by a drawing of numbers by the candidates prior to the forum.
