Keynote speaker Debra Simmons Wilson will present at the 2011 Diversity Roundtable Summit. Simmons Wilson leads the Diversity Services Sector and co-manages the Planning and Community Outreach sector for consulting group, Engaging Solutions in Indianapolis.
Break out sessions will also be available. Choose ONE of the following sessions and help create action items that will focus the Diversity Roundtable’s goals for building an inclusive Greater Lafayette Community:
1.) Exploring our inclusiveness - David Rollock, Facilitator
During this session attendees will share their views of inclusiveness and what an inclusive community should look like. Discussion will then focus on how we move from where we are
to where we would like to be.
2.) Bridging Education and Employment - Ivan Hernandez, Facilitator
During this session, the group will examine how accessible our community educational, job training, and employment sectors are to all community members. How easily do high school graduates from underrepresented groups move to post secondary education and the workforce?
3.) Understanding Social Connectedness - Sonya Margerum, Facilitator
The focus of this session is on how our community provides for social connection among its various constituencies. How do we insure that all residents are aware of and have access to our thriving arts and cultural programs?
