John Blichmann has more than 20 years of extensive product design (both mass-production and custom), testing, manufacturing, service, sales, marketing and management, all gained while he worked at Caterpillar in a variety of positions and locations. He ultimately "retired" as an engineering supervisor to focus on the design of high-quality brewing equipment. Yes, designing 8,000 hp diesel engines was indeed pretty cool, but not nearly as satisfying as developing world-class homebrew equipment! Blichmann has been an avid brewer since 1991 and is a BJCP judge. Like you, brewing is his serious hobby, but designing equipment for brewing and winemaking is his true passion.
