We invite community members to enjoy a healthy lunch and learn from national and local experts about how to fight hunger in our own backyard, improve food security among low-resource populations, limit food waste with retail pick-up programs, and the future of hunger relief in North Central Indiana. Presenter: Charles Dennis, Feeding America Bio: Charles Dennis is Director of Compliance and Capability at the Feeding America national office. He has been on the Compliance team for ten years. In his compliance role, Charles travels to Feeding America members across the country to ensure the standards of the Feeding America Member Contract. As a complement to this function, Charles offers capacity building services to member food banks in areas such as warehouse operations, fundraising, board governance, partner relations. In his travels, he’s visited over 90 of the 200 Feeding America members. Previous to coming to the national office, Charles worked at the San Antonio Food Bank for over five years. During his time there, he worked in both transportation and food sourcing. Charles lives in Chicago with his wife and a basset hound and is a huge baseball fan.
