Small Business Matters features a presentation on Economic Gardening by Scott Hutcheson of the Purdue Center for Regional Development. From Good to Great: Making Greater Lafayette a Place of Choice,” the Quality of Life initiative, outlines Economic Gardening as one of the many tools that Greater Lafayette can use to increase occupational opportunities for current and future residents, particularly the young professionals that many communities are trying to retain. Greater Lafayette is leading the trend in industrial attraction, looking for a large employer that wanted to move to their community. We also recognize that there are many strategies to grow our economy – helping existing business grow for example. In some communities this approach has become known as economic gardening, an entrepreneurial approach to economic development.
This luncheon is geared for those members and guests interested in connecting and networking with small businesses. They get together the 2nd Thursday at 11:45. Does not meet June, July or August.
